Rebecca’s Review of Aphrodite Hills, Cyprus
Tell us about the resort – what makes Aphrodite Hills special?
Just a 15-minute drive from Paphos located on a plateau overlooking the Mediterranean Sea is the luxury 5-star Aphrodite Hills. A golf course surrounds the resort which provides unspoilt sea views and creates a real feeling of open space which I found immediately calming and relaxing.

Although popular with families, particularly during the summer season, the hotel has so much space and many adult only areas (such as the adult only restaurant, bar, pool and spa). I found Aphrodite Hills very peaceful, (even though I visited at the start of the October half term) and I left feeling totally rejuvenated.

How was the food?
With 7 restaurants to choose from you are spoilt for choice (to include Mediterranean, Asian, Mexican, Italian, Indian, Greek Cypriot and a Stone Grill). The Fig & Olive is an adult only restaurant with access to a large buffet with something to satisfy every taste, including many healthy options, or you can order from the a la carte menu. The food is incredible and to a very high standard.
During the summer months Aphrodite Hills is an All-Inclusive resort and in the winter months Semi All-Inclusive (which is half board with drinks included between 17:00-23:00) making it excellent value for money.
What was the Spa like?
Visiting the award-winning Retreat Spa was the highlight of my trip, the entrance of the spa has a 1000-year-old Olive Tree, making this a great destination for a luxury spa holiday. I had the Indian Ritual treatment which was 90 minutes of total relaxation. This ancient Ayurvedic treatment uses a combination of warm Indian spices and Frangipani oil starting with a rose footbath and ending with a milk hair mask; total luxury! The spa facilities include an Infinity pool, heated hydro pool, a relaxation courtyard, hairdressers, state of the art gym, 27 treatment rooms, Fitness Studio, Sauna, Steam room, Thermae heat rooms (to include Laconium, Hamman, Tepidarium and Caldarium). The Vitality restaurant with Juice bar is a wonderful place for a healthy lunch during a visit to the spa. I would recommend combining a fitness programme with spa treatments to make the most of all the facilities that are available.
Tell us about the activities?
The sports facilities on offer are outstanding. There is so much to do that it’s difficult to fit everything in! With a health and fitness centre in the main hotel, Indoor and outdoor swimming pools, activity pool, group classes, personal trainers, 2 tennis courts (in addition to the separate tennis academy), 18-hole championship golf course, horse riding, football academy plus an extensive network of nature trails and walking paths, as well as all the facilities at the Retreat Spa. Group classes are available throughout the day to include BodyPump, yoga and aqua classes. Classes can be pre-booked on the resort app or at one of the interactive info points located around the hotel. There is so much choice when it comes to fitness, it is a case of do as much or as little as you like, making this a great destination for a golf break or tennis holiday.
Due to the elevated position of the resort there isn’t direct access to a beach. However, there is a complimentary shuttle service (every hour) taking 20 minutes to Zias Beach, where you will find a small beach with a beach club.
Who would you recommend Aphrodite Hills to?
Everyone! Solo travellers, couples, families, golf enthusiasts, tennis players, fitness fanatics, walkers, spa lovers as well as anyone simply looking for rest, relaxation and some sunshine.
Insider tip?
I stayed in a Junior suite with Sea and Golf Course views and swim up pool. These rooms have a separate bedroom, living room and a huge bathroom with walk in rainfall shower and big bath, a terrace with sunbeds and a shared swim up pool. In my opinion this room type is worth paying the supplement and made my stay extra special.
