In the heart of Bali’s luscious, green jungle you’ll find COMO Shambhala Estate, where this inspirational six-night retreat takes place. Held between 19th to 25th October, you’ll be able to learn and experience Pilates like never before. Designed to improve core strength and posture, this retreat combines a harmonising wellness holidaywith a challenging, yet satisfying, Pilates programme.
Under the expert supervision of Pilates Instructor Amy Buck, you will learn how to make the most of your Pilates training, including breathing techniques and a private postural analysis session. Amy will apply her vast experience in this field to help you correct any musculoskeletal imbalances, as well as optimising your head-to-toe alignment. with a focus on restoring your body's natural symmetry and strength.
Each day, the retreat will focus on a specific Pilates principal, from concentration techniques to breathing control. You will take part in a two-hour morning session followed by lunch, then in the afternoon there will be a 90-minute session, and an hour where Amy is available for consultation. Morning sessions will work specifically towards rebalancing the muscles around your joints, with afternoon Pilates flow classes incorporating the newly learned alignment techniques.

About Amy Buck
Amy Buck is Head of Fitness & Pilates at Como Shambhala Estate. She received her Advanced STOTT Pilates Instructor Certification in 2004 in Seattle, Washington.
Her fascination and magnetism to exploring human movement led her to studies in bio-mechanics and applied kinesiology with ACE (American Council on Exercise) for her personal fitness training. Amy graduated with a BSED in Early Childhood Education from the University of Georgia. Her love for teaching and the outdoors lead her to professional certifications in snowboard instruction and multi-sport adventure travel guiding, eventually owning her own backcountry guiding business in Olympic National Park. Amy is also certified in TRX, total body resistance exercise training and ZUMBA®.
Amy applies years of experience in postural assessment and functional training to discover muscular imbalances caused by repeated daily patterns and provides exercises and tools to gain alignment awareness.
Amy is a firm believer that anything is possible. We can use physical movement to practice conscious control over our mind while fine tuning our bodies to achieve anything we set our mind to.
