In my opinion, diet and fitness shouldn’t be a quick fix, but instead a lifestyle change.
Sure, you can transform your body in four weeks in time for that long awaited holiday or special event, but what about the rest of your life? As soon as the four weeks are up – is it right to let yourself go to pot? No! Healthy eating and working out needs to be part of your healthy life.

Transform (verb): to change completely the appearance or character of something or someone, especially so that they are improved – source: Cambridge Dictionaries online.
Transformation is a change in the very nature of something or someone. It can be a living organism, a person or an animal, an organisation, a place, a city, an area or buildings.

Whatever you wish to transform in your life, it should always start with the mind. When we learn how to change our thoughts patterns about something, we can change the choices we make with ease. This is called mind training and when you learn how to change the way you look at things, you can transform almost anything in your life, not just your body.

Transform your mind first and look at how and why you approach your body like you do, and where the feelings about your body (and food) stem from. If you can hand on heart say you are genuinely grounded, love yourself (however clichéd that may sound), are truly present, confident and have self-efficacy, and you would like to change your body shape and weight for health reasons (and maybe even aesthetic reasons - and nothing wrong with that as long as you're coming from a healthy state of mind), then eating for health and improving your digestive system and lifestyle is the way to go. By taking part in fun workouts with friends - bootcamps and HIIT classes (High Intensity Interval Training) for example, as well as a loving dose of Pilates and yoga - you could be saying hello to a more defined body shape, upped energy levels and increased longevity in no time.

Every cell in your body is renewed at least once a year. As the building blocks used come from your food, eating an exceptionally healthy diet has the potential to transform how you look, feel, and how your body functions. For most people, this means ditching the junk food, fizzy drinks and unhealthy snacks that we all reach for when feeling stressed, peckish, or plain lazy. Let's face it, preparing a fresh, healthy meal from scratch means shopping little and often, owning a big fridge, and finding time to prepare ingredients at the end of a long, working day. No wonder ready-meals, frozen and microwave options are growing in popularity.

Transformation is a pretty powerful word and not for the faint hearted. If you are morbidly obese then visually transformation is going to be much easier to sell to those looking in. If, however, you are like most people who want to lose a few pounds, tone up and look like Jennifer Aniston or Brad Pitt in Fight Club, then ‘transformation’ is a tad tougher. I think changing how you see yourself as well as doing the obvious will go a long way to that perfect reflection in the mirror. Genes and body type have a massive part to play and there is a reason why the Hollywood ‘hot body set’ looks great. It is because they are all blessed with what our society considers to be ‘beautiful’.
